The Rosary Path at Marylake
The World's Largest Living Rosary
The Augustinians have the biggest rosary in the world in King City, Ontario. The Rosary winds across the acres of land near the Marylake Monastery and Villanova College. This site has also been designated as a site of pilgrimage for the Jubilee of Mercy.
A living Rosary, providing a Space for Reverent and Enriching Meditation upon the Prayers of the Rosary amidst the Peace and Natural Beauty of God’s Creation - designed by sacred artist Ted Harasti.
The entire path of the rosary is about 1.5 kilometers in length and extends over twenty acres of rolling hills and old farm fields. It’s an irresistible sanctuary of love and purity, peace and joy.
The Great Crucifix, is at the start of the Rosary Path. The Cross is made of specially processed stainless steel, is nineteen feet long while the bronze corpus is eleven feet in length. It is created by renowned Canadian sculptor, Timothy Schmalz. The scroll above the head of Christ indicating "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews" was designed by Ted Harasti and is authentically inscribed in abbreviated form in three languages: Hebrew, Latin, and Greek, consistent with the Gospel narrative of Christ's Passion.
Many people who meet here will become life-long friends. Some will join in our efforts to establish the Path while others will volunteer their time and talents to maintaining the Rosary Path as a Catholic renewal centre for saving and enriching many souls.
Whether you are leisurely walking down its natural pathways, or praying the Rosary, this tranquil, natural facility will refresh you and nourish your soul.
The Official Opening of The Rosary Path at Marylake – August 14, 2016.
