800 Acres of Park and Lake
Natural Beauty... and Space
A place for Reflection and Recollection
Once you step onto our 800 acres of walking paths, gentle rolling hills and the Rosary Path - in its open and natural setting, and with Marylake in the background, you are instinctively compelled to reflect and recollect.
A place for all Seasons
It does not matter when you are here. Each season has its unique appeal. Busier and with more activities in the warmer months, but more peaceful, accessible and rewarding in other ways in the winter.
A place for Learning and Confession
For the children in your parish community, Marylake provides a glorious setting for confirmation preparation activities and retreats, Catholic and Bible studies and days of recollection.
A place for Prayer and Pilgrimage
Marylake can provide you and your diocese with different opportunities for all types of gatherings, conferences, prayer groups and meetings. Your parish prayer activities could include the use of the Rosary Path, the Stations of the Cross and a range of pilgrimage activities.
A place for Recreation and Nature
Recreation activities can include picnics, concerts, skating on the pond, cross-country skiing, hiking and fishing.
A place for Young or Old to Celebrate
Families in your community can pray together, play together, have meals together all year round at Marylake. For the children in your parish community, Marylake provides a glorious setting for confirmation preparation activities and retreats, Catholic studies or days of recollection.
A place of History and Heritage
Spread over the landscape are several historic buildings - Sir Henry Pellatt's old barn, the Chapel of Grace, a retreat centre and a log cabin style gift shop.
A place for Saints and Priests
Marylake can also provide your parishioners with a place of learning and scholarship, Catholic studies, marriage classes and confirmation preparation. In fact it’s often used as a place of sanctuary and reflection for parish priests – a place of spiritual retreat and confession.
A place for Masses and Special Events
The Shrine, the Chapel on the hill, the Retreat House, our 800-acre grounds can all be used to host magnificent Masses and special events. The grounds can be used as a kind of Steubenville Youth Conference North, where youth can come together with their peers in celebration of their faith.
